AUDITION BY VIDEO SUBMISSION
Here’s what you need to do to submit a video audition:
Register for an audition on the website, selecting “video audition” when asked about audition session times. When you submit your application you will be given access to the video audition resources: including scene selections, the dance video and the video submission link.
Record your audition following the requirements below. We don’t need a professional studio recording - just set up your phone or tablet and make sure you’re in light, that’s really all we need.
Upload your video to YouTube, Vimeo or your preferred video platform. Adjust the privacy settings if you don’t want the whole world to see it, but make sure anyone with the link CAN access your video.
Return to the audition resources page to submit your video link.
VIDEO AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:
Please complete your entire audition in one continuous take – do NOT edit the footage.
Perform excerpts from two contrasting musical theatre songs - one verse and chorus or verse/bridge/chorus only, approximately 16-32 bars. Please do not perform the full songs without cuts. You may perform with live piano or recorded accompaniment (as long as there are no vocals on the accompaniment track). We recommend that you present songs which contrast in period and style (i.e. one ‘legit’ song and one modern song); additionally, please also consider contrasts of character and vocal type/range.
Select and perform one of the short scene-reads, preferably from memory. You will be provided access to the scene selections after you submit your application.
Perform the short musical theatre/Broadway jazz routine, preferably in heels for ladies. You will be provided access to the audition dance video after you submit your application.
